An Active December

We have been having a wonderful time in P.E. so far this school year . The children have been extremely busy doing a wide variety of fun, co-operative games, tag, relay and team games during September.  Further, the children also had an introduction to field hockey, which was a first for most of them. Even thought it was something new, they all approached it with lots of vigor, excitement and enthusiasm.

The Upper El and Middle Year students got to take a break from the sunny days outside, as they ventured to the South Sound Squash Club (SSSC) to play squash, which is now a regular feature each year in our PE curriculum.  Many thanks to SSSC for the use of their equipment and facilities, and training with Coach Karen.  As always, it is very much appreciated and enjoyed by the children.

Leading up to the end of December each class will be busy exploring and learning new games in which they can gain some striking and fielding experience. Overall everyone seems to be having fun and getting a lot of exercise at the same time.  It’s wonderful to see them going back to class with a healthy glow to their cheeks. :)

It’s a busy time for all sport enthusiasts, as there are many fun active events coming up in the next two weeks.   Anything that gets students involved in physical activity is a good idea, but it’s also important to get students to participate in events as a school, which builds school spirit and friendships, with each other and children from different schools.

Please note the following events:
