Casa 2

Happy New Year from Casa 2!

Welcome back from the holidays!

This month in Casa 2 we will be discussing “Life: Under the Microscope”, with subjects varying from matter, cells, bacteria and microscopic helpers.

The children have already been getting to work at a furious pace and we are excited to see the beautiful work we will accomplish throughout the remainder of the year.

November is full of “Plants, Algae and Fungi”!

This month in Casa 2, we have been exploring the world of “Plants, Algae & Fungi”.  So far, we have learned about the different types of plants, how we use plants, and all the different varieties that we have here in Cayman. The children were delighted to discover that some of their t-shirts were even made from a plant!

We will be continuing this theme over the next 2 weeks by delving into the fabulous world of fungi, exploring Cayman’s own algae, (seaweed), and a fun field trip to take a tour of the mangroves!

October in Casa 2

This month our theme focused on Planet Earth. We looked at various weather systems as well as the continents of the world.
Both Casa classes decided to host a costume/pajama party at the end of the month and it was a success! The children had the opportunity to bake and decorate the classroom for their party and we ‘trick or treated’ around MBTS to show off our costume creations.
We look forward to coming back after the break to get back to some great work and we hope everyone has a wonderful break.
Ms Kelly & Ms Krista

Welcome Back Casa 2!

Ms. Kelly & Ms. Krista are very excited to be heading up Casa 2 this school year. Our children have been settling in quite nicely.

Our theme this month is “Me & My Family”, and our group art project will involve a beautiful family tree with photos of everyone’s family.

We are extremely excited about a wonderful & productive year & are looking forward to a lovely 2010/11 with you all at MBTS.
