Welcome to Montessori By The Sea.
For twenty years, Montessori By The Sea has been providing excellent child-centered Montessori education to the Cayman Islands.
Since the opening of our first Toddler and Casa classes in 2000, our school has grown steadily to become a vibrant, closely-knit community of 150 joyful students, and their dedicated families and educators. Now spanning Toddler to Upper Elementary, Montessori By The Sea is the only school in the Cayman Islands to offer firmly-established, comprehensive, and internationally-recognized Montessori early years and primary programs for children ages 21 months to 12 years old:
Toddler (21 months to 3 years old)
Casa (3 to 6 years old)
Lower Elementary (6 to 9 years old)
Upper Elementary (9 to 12 years old)
MBTS takes pride in providing an education and environment that:
- honours Montessori principles and practices in a manner that is authentic and faithful to essential tenets of Montessori education,
- progressively interprets Montessori philosophy and methodology, considering global best practices in early years and primary education, and
- is responsive to the needs of the children and families in its school community
Montessori By The Sea implements an enriched Montessori curriculum that emphasizes inquiry-based study, cross-curricular integration, and life skills education, complemented by specialized instruction in Spanish, ICT, Physical Education, the Arts, and Music. Our graduates do not just excel academically, but emerge as well-rounded, confident, creative and compassionate individuals.
Our classrooms are safe, warm and nurturing environments, prepared and staffed by dedicated, fully-qualified educators. All classes are carefully equipped with stimulating materials, equipment, and furniture that allow maximum exploration and use of the senses, and are designed to meet the growing, changing needs of each child at each plane of development. Optimal student-teacher ratios ensure that every child is given individualized attention.
