An A”May”zing Month!
Time sure flies in Casa when you are having fun and keeping busy! May is coming to an end and it’s hard to believe that we’re on the cusp of the final month of our 2012-2013 school year. Thus far, we’ve learned and experienced so much, and May was certainly no exception.
Throughout May, we learned all about North America. Our examination helped us develop an appreciation for the great geographical, cultural, and biological diversity hosted by our wonderful home continent. As always, we talked about some cool creatures that reside on our continent of focus, but we also turned our attention toward one of the coolest creatures in the whole wide world: human beings!
Our exploration of the theme “My Amazing Body” was very comprehensive and and led us through discussions about our physical features, numerous body parts, and the intricate and fascinating internal systems of our bodies. We also talked at length about hygiene, fitness, and nutrition and the key roles that they play in keeping our bodies and minds healthy, strong, and energetic. Let’s get an early start at making good habits for life!
In preparation for the upcoming MBTS art exhibition, our young Pi”casa”os were hard at work creating both individual pieces of art, and contributing their collective talents to create one piece of group/classroom art. We’re anticipating a great turnout of family and friends to marvel at our masterpieces on June 7th at the National Gallery!
Last, but not least, congratulations to our Kindergartners! They delivered a “rock star” performance at the island-wide NCFA choral speech competition, gaining not only a bronze medal, but a new found confidence for public speaking and appreciation for teamwork.
Hooray for May!
