Winter fun!
The students thoroughly enjoyed learning about early humans and what they must have figured out in order to survive and evolve.
Thanks to Ms. Denise, LED students received “hands on” experience with early human artistic expression . . .
. . . and thanks to the Upper Elementary class, our students were able to see a life-sized version of a possible early human home.
There are many exciting events for December. We start on December 3rd with an educational trip to the mangroves on a boat. The students will take an in-depth look at the varieties of mangroves, how they help us, and the unique nature of that ecosystem.
There is also the first LED Open House for the year on December 4th from 3:00-4:00 p.m. The students will have an opportunity to show off their favorite works and demonstrate how they use various materials in the classroom to enrich their knowledge.
There will also be more concert rehearsals as the students prepare for what is sure to be a fabulous holiday concert. They have been excited about the special “joint practices” between grade levels.
Given this is a short month for school, we will be asking the students to focus on reinforcing what they have already learned. They will spend time reviewing and practicing materials they have been shown and strengthening their knowledge before the break. For further details on our goals for December, please select the link at the end of this entry.
We hope you enjoy the holiday season and we look forward to seeing you at the Open House!
