January in Casa
Oh what a busy month December has been! Rehearsals, the wonderful concert and lots of arts and crafts. The children have been so busy decorating the classrooms and are looking forward to taking home their decorations.
We are returning to school on January 5th and will be studying fish and birds from all around the world. We will take a close look at the wonderful and amazing fish that swim in the crystal blue waters that surround our beautiful island such as the graceful stingray and the magnificent, colorful lionfish. It will be great to look at and study the bird population that nests on Grand Cayman, like the pretty little yellow, wonderfully named Bananaquit and of course the bright green and very noisy parrot which is our national bird.
Towards the end of this month we will also be discussing National Hero’s day and honoring the men and women who helped to shape our island. In honor of this, January 26th is a Public Holiday and therefore school will be closed on that day.
Once again, we would like to wish you all Happy Holidays and we look forward to seeing you in the new year.
