February in Casa is all about Occupations and Transportation!

This month’s theme is the “World of Work: Occupations and Transportation.” We are looking forward to discovering various forms of transportation over land, water, air and beyond. We will discuss different occupations – the titles, responsibilities, required training, and rewards for particular jobs. Children will consider what they would like to do “ When I Grow Up”, and also learn about their parents’ jobs. Parents please share aspects of your job with your child so they can share with their class!

Not forgetting our continent of focus – Australasia, we will be practicing locating the continent on a globe and talking about what makes that continent unique. We will look at flags, animals and the landmarks of the continent. As always, please feel free to share any artifacts, souvenirs or even visiting relatives from Australasia with us!

Progress reports are heading your way this month, and Casa parents are invited to come in for a parent-teacher conference. Sign-up sheets will be posted in the Casa cubby area, or you may call to arrange a convenient time. Phone conferences are okay, too!

We will celebrate Valentine’s Day with a Valentine’s Party the last day before mid-term break. Remember school is closed for the mid-term break from February 16th – February 20th. School will resume Monday Feb. 23rd.
