April in Casa

April’s theme will be Precious Planet: Keeping the Earth Green, and we will be learning ways to keep our planet clean for future generations. We will begin by studying biomes and ecosystems on Earth, such as rainforests, deserts, tundras. We will also be looking at ways to help preserve the natural beauty and balance of our planet using the 4 Rs – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Rethink. The children will learn ways to recycle materials such as plastic, aluminum and glass.

We are planning a beach clean up to get into the spirit of Earth Day on April 22nd! The kids will be encouraged to keep our beautiful island green and clean, and we will also discuss the global impact of pollution. Finally, we will take a closer look at endangered animals and extinction, and how we are in danger of losing animals such as the Amur Leopard and Black Rhino.
