Kids CARE: Making a Paws-itive Impact
One of the activities for Kids CARE this term was to lend a helping hand to furry friends in need. Volunteers traveled to the island’s former capital, Bodden Town. The reason for the trip was to drop off donations at the PAWS thrift store. PAWS is an animal welfare organization that provides food, medication and houses for dogs and cats in need.
Student volunteers delivered three boxes and four giant bags of items, which will all be sold and the money used to buy food and Heartgard medication. Volunteers also delivered food to Fred the dog and took him for a walk on the beach, conscientiously picking up discarded plastic as they went.
Kids CARE will continue to get involved and make a positive impact in the greater community.
