An Action-packed April in P.E.!

Track2
The Spring term has been very busy in the PE and Sports Department at MBTS, with lots of action and activity over the past several weeks.
In class this month, the children finished up their Invasion Games unit (football, field hockey, tag rugby, basketball and netball) and began their Net and Wall unit. They have been focusing on their hand-eye coordination and the skills needed for badminton, tennis, volleyball, Irish GAA handball (not to be confused with the handball you see in the Olympics, which is an invasion game). I am eagerly anticipating accompanying the Grade Five students to the squash club later this month, where they’ll be taking part in some introductory sessions of squash.
March was a particularly active month, as students from Grades Two to Four (the Grade Five students were away on their school trip to Little Cayman) represented MBTS at the Inter Primary two-day track meet. I am so proud of how well they all did, not only in the their athleticism but as ambassadors for the school. They tried hard, and showed wonderful sportsmanship and patience over the two-day meet. Well done to  students Tessa, Imogen, Sierra, Alli, Quinn, Sarah, Harper N., Kaitlin, Roman, Mikey, Liam, Ethan C., Jagger, Vin, Kaz and Oisin!
We also celebrated Sports Days just before the Easter holiday break. Students from Casa up through Grade Seven had the opportunity to take part in events that brought together fun and fitness. A big thank you to the Casa parents, who helped out as group leaders on Casa’s Sports Day, as well to all of the parents who came out to support and cheer on the students during these days.
