LEU Celebrates International Peace Day

As September 21st marked International Peace Day, the Lower Elementary Upstairs class took the opportunity to share what things made them feel most at peace. We discussed what peace might look, sound and feel like. The range of what made the children feel peaceful was vast, and students were interested to learn about all of the different ways in which their peers experienced peace. We had contributions ranging from “my family’ to “camping in Canada” to “feeling the breeze on my face,” with many more in between!

After deciding on their favourite way to experience peace, students added their ideas to an LEU Peace Day poster. It was a wonderful way to collaborate together and acted as an important reminder to spread peace, today and always!

“Establishing lasting peace is the work of education; all politics can do is keep us out of war.”
