Music and Movement
This month, we’ve been exploring Music and Movement, and all of the students have also been busily preparing for the Holiday Concert on December 7th. The children are all very excited to share their musical talents with everyone!
The Toddler children have enjoyed playing with instruments – particularly the bells – as they learn how to play with music and move to the beat.
The Casa classes have been learning echo and simple songs, and have been enjoying expressing music through movement. We often do this through dance and scarf activities. This month has featured selections from the Nutcracker, and Thanksgiving-themed activities.
In Lower Elementary, the children have been fully focused on preparing for the Holiday Concert, which they are all eagerly anticipating. We have also been exploring the connection between music and movement through dance and other rhythmic movement activities.
The Upper Elementary students have been working very hard on their class pieces for the concert, and last week, they had the chance to all come together and hear their group piece together for the first time. In their classroom, they have also been working hard on writing their spoken emcee segments, allowing them to explore and show their creativity – and apply their writing skills – in a meaningful and practical way.
It is with great excitement that we all anticipate the Holiday Concert at the ARC in Camana Bay on December 7th, starting promptly at 10 am. We hope to see you there!
