Heralding the Holidays with Music
The end of this term is always a busy time for musicians, with winter concerts and holiday performances.
In November, four of our Grade 6 students attended a Masterclass with award-winning New York singer, Natalie Douglas. This was a great opportunity for these students to learn from a professional singer who has performed all over the world.
In keeping with the school’s annual tradition, students from Grades 3-6 performed at the Rotary Christmas Tree Lighting. The students did a wonderful job representing their school, and were happy to be performing in the community alongside other schools and performers.
Of course, December would not be complete without the Holiday Concert. The students worked very hard, and did a fantastic job in all of their performances. There was a wide variety of musical styles and student personalities showcased throughout, and the students really enjoyed sharing their talents with the audience. Students in grades 4-6 also took on the roles of emcees and wrote their spoken parts themselves. A fun time was had by everyone! On behalf of all of the teachers and staff at MBTS, I would like to once again thank all of the students and their families. We are very proud of what the children have achieved.
Happy Holidays, one and all! And remember: “The best way to spread Christmas cheer, is singing loud for all to hear”.
