Magnifying the World with a Microscope
With a blink of an eye, Christmas and our holiday season is over! Our first week back from the holiday break was fairly subdued, with a few friends missing due to illness and travelling. We have since enjoyed getting back into the swing of things and reminded ourselves of the classroom rules and ways.
Our theme this month is “Life: Under the Microscope” and we are learning about cells, bacteria and viruses, and microscopic helpers, as well as the three states of matter. We learned a very fun, catchy song about the “Three States of Matter” – ask your child to share it with you and you might learn something new!
The continent of focus is Asia and we have enjoyed travelling around the huge landmass, exploring its countries on the Puzzle Map, visiting some amazing landmarks, and getting to know some its animals, to name just a few! We also celebrated and wished one another a Happy Chinese New Year! 2020 is the year of the rat, a celebration for those born in 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020. Gong hei fat choy!
