A Year of Creativity, Confidence and Compassion
As the school year draws to a close, I reflect on the experience of teaching in Montessori By The Sea.
The Montessori values are evident in every aspect of the school, and I continue to be amazed by the students day after day as they display their creative, independent, analytic, confident and compassionate selves.
In my role as Learning Support Teacher I have the opportunity to visit the different classrooms in the school and every room is full of children actively engaged in their work, and always eager to show me what they are working on. They are being taught to value effort, hard work, learning and persistence amongst so many other important principles.
Learning Support aims to use the children’s individual skills, abilities and interests to build their confidence and knowledge in different areas. My students are always enthusiastic in the work we do and love to offer their own opinions and thoughts, which are welcome every time. Although it has been great to see the children adapting and learning new skills while we engage in ‘virtual school’, I so look forward to seeing them again as we all continue our learning experience.
