Friendships Blossom through Kindness

We are back to school after a wonderful summer catching up with friends and family. It has been a pleasure to welcome back our returning students as well as those who have just joined us this term! As we enter the new school year, we have taken the time to familiarize students with the expectations, rights, and responsibilities of the classroom. One of the most important being, the act of kindness.

In a Montessori classroom, children are blessed with the opportunity to work alongside peers of differing ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Children learn quickly how important it is to be kind to one another, to listen, reflect and adapt their behavior to make others around them feel happy and welcome.

This year, like every year, we welcomed a new intake of Grade One’s; these children are new to the class environment, routine, and daily schedule. Our Grade Two and Three students quickly took it upon themselves to show kindness by welcoming them, showing them around the classroom, and offering advice or support where needed. In doing so, we have witnessed existing friendships strengthen and new friendships blossom over the course of this month!
