Rocking into Summer

Grade 5 and 6 students have enjoyed a rocking term on guitar. With the addition of new instruments to the school, students have been able to leave behind the ukulele and play rock songs on guitar this term. From The Rolling Stones to Blink 182, students have been progressing through the levels to rock superstardom.

Grade 3 and 4 students have been making their first steps into tab reading on the ukulele. Understanding how to read it independently has been a main goal for this term and all students have succeeded. They have then been earning “karate belts” for each song they master.

Grade 1 and 2 students have been doing a mixture of ukulele and African drumming this term. Composition and group work has been a fresh focus. Students have even formed ensembles and practiced outside in the sun.
