A Year of Creativity & Community at MBTS: Exploring the ICT Frontier

This school year at MBTS has been a remarkable journey of creativity and community, as students across all grades embarked on thrilling adventures in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). From the youngest tech explorers to our seasoned computational thinkers, everyone embraced technology with enthusiasm and curiosity, making ICT a highlight of the year.

Across the school, students have taken significant steps in developing foundational digital skills. Our youngest learners started by mastering essential skills like mouse control and keyboard navigation and quickly moved into the world of coding with the help of playful Bee-Bot robots. This introduction to coding transformed learning into an interactive quest, sparking excitement and creativity.

As students progressed, they began to explore more complex digital environments. They logged into their computer systems independently and navigated vibrant digital landscapes like the Windows desktop. The integration of foundational coding concepts laid the groundwork for future tech wizardry. Scratch became a powerful tool for merging creativity with technology, allowing students to design interactive projects, create animations, and even code games that blend math with technology.

Moreover, digital safety and responsible internet use became a key focus, enabling students to navigate the online world safely and responsibly. By engaging with tools like Microsoft Word and exploring the realms of cryptography, students enhanced their digital literacy, gaining skills that are crucial for both academic and future career success.

In the realm of digital art, students embarked on an artistic journey, from using beginner-friendly tools like Microsoft Paint to experimenting with advanced design applications like Inkscape. This exploration not only fostered a love for creative expression but also highlighted the seamless integration of technology and art in their projects.

As we continue to inspire creativity, critical thinking, and technological exploration, the future looks bright for our young tech enthusiasts.
